This is a simple recipe for some Christmas tree rice crispy treats. These are super easy to make and a lot of fun to decorate with kids.
- 9 cups of Rice Krispies
- 9 cups of mini Marshmallows
- 6 tablespoons of butter
- green food coloring
- sprinkles/candy to decorate
First melt the butter and the marshmallows together in the microwave for small amounts of time and stir it well in between. When they are melted add the green food coloring until you get a color you are happy with, and then add the green marshmallow/butter combo to the rice krispies and with a spatula or spoon that has been sprayed with a non stick cooking sprat, mix well until all of the krispies are coated. Then spoon the mixture into 2 round, greased cake tins and leave to set for a a while until it starts to go firm. Then carefully flip the tin onto a board to remove the rice krispies from the tin and cut it up like a pizza.
To decorate I put a lollipop stick in the bottom of the tree then used icing and little chocolate candies to decorate. You could also use different kinds of christmas themed sprinkles or candy canes.
These where fun to make and they where also really tasty! They would also make a cute homemade gift if you put one in a little clear bag and tied it with a little ribbon.
If you make some of these take a picture and tweet me, I’d love to see them!
